Building Better Boys . . . Uses the game of basketball to educate, to improve physical condition, and to develop life skills to ensure participant’s current and future successes.


As you know in the game of basketball, the phrase “You ‘bout to get schooled” means the offensive man is about to perform a basketball feat that will teach the opponent a lesson… a lesson that the crowd won’t let him forget.  In Building Better Boys, we intentionally teach life lessons that will never be forgotten.

-    Concentrating on the task at hand
-    Speaking and Thinking right for daily success
-    Setting goals and accomplishing them
-    Turn pressure into productivity
-    Outpace procrastination in 3 ways
-    Compete against themselves
-    Put ‘Starters’ on their team
-    Develop successful habits that bring successful results

Participants will strive for personal excellence, rather than comparative excellence, and they will learn that it is never "us vs. them", but that self-worth building is more about "us vs. us" or how well we can do what we can control.

I will commit to doing my best in my schoolwork, home chores, community, and developing my game. I understand that life has many opportunities, and, excuses are life’s opportunities passing me by.  I will persist until I succeed, because, I am a Champion. Giving up is not an option.  I will never consider defeat and I will remove from my speech, such words and phrases as quit, cannot, unable, impossible, out of the question, not likely to happen, failure, unworkable, hopeless, and retreat. When I am faced with  challenges, I will learn from those challenges I will rise to the challenges.  I will soar to my highest heights.  There are NO LIMITS  * NO BOUNDARIES to what I can achieve. I will succeed, because, I am a Champion.
